McLean, VA | October 3, 2016 – SMS, a leading IT services provider and systems integration firm with over 40 years of experience providing IT solutions to the Federal Government, announced today it was awarded the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) task order. As a prime contract holder under the NETCENTS II NETOPS Contract, SMS will be working with DLT Solutions, an AWS Government Competency Partner and certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Managed Service Provider (MSP), to implement on-demand Cloud infrastructure so.

The one-year task order will enable the AFSOC to increase secure information sharing and collaboration, enhance mission effectiveness, while decreasing their server costs. Additionally, the AWS Cloud IaaS will allow AFSOC users to access applications anywhere, anytime using desktop or mobile devices. SMS and DLT  will assure the existing AFSOC Cloud will transition seamlessly onto the AWS infrastructure to maintain existing services and provide new, more efficient and secure cloud services.
