SMS Achieves ISO 9001:2015 Recertification

McLean, VA | March 6, 2024 – SMS announced today it has achieved recertification of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Standard. This standard provides a framework for businesses to consistently provide services and products using best practices that lead to customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement.

SMS Appoints Vice President of Service Delivery

McLean, VA | February 26, 2024 SMS announced the addition of a new executive to the company.

Scott Darwin, Sr. Director of Service Delivery, was promoted to the role of Vice President of Service Delivery. In this role, Mr. Darwin will continue to lead all aspects of project and program management as well as other duties related to operations and general corporate management. In his six years with SMS, Mr. Darwin has fulfilled key operational and managerial positions for several highly successful programs.

SMS Awarded Air Force Research Lab’s ARTEMIS VI Task Order

McLean, VA | January 18, 2024 SMS announced it was awarded the Advanced Research and Technology Enclave Management and Information Support VI (ARTEMIS VI) contract for services at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Edwards AFB, CA. This task order continues SMS’ seamless support to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), known as Rocket Lab, for computer management services.

This 5-year contract is a recompete of ARTEMIS V, originally won by SMS in 2018. ARTEMIS VI is a $22.6M award under the Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) multiple award IDIQ contract.

“This award exemplifies the great teamwork and incredible dedication of our people on the ARTEMIS contract,” says Conroy Watson, SMS’ on-site Regional Director and Program Manager for ARTEMIS. “I’m extremely happy to be part of our ongoing contribution to the Air Force’s Rocket Lab and am eagerly looking forward to the next chapter of our close work with our USAF customers at Edwards AFB.”

Under this contract, SMS will provide IT Operations services (including Service Desk Support, VTC, High-performance Computing, Cybersecurity, & Asset Management) which address the complex scientific and business needs of AFRL.

SMS Achieves AWS Select Tier Services Partner Status

AWS Select Tier Services Partners are organizations recognized for proven technical expertise and demonstrated customer experience.

SMS Wins Air Force Research Laboratory PRsISM Task Order

McLean, VA | October 23, 2023 SMS was awarded the Phillips Research Site Information Systems Management (PRsISM) 2.0 recompete contract for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. The Phillips Research Site (PRS) includes the Space Vehicles and Directed Energy Directorates of AFRL.

Under this five-year, $40M Task Order, SMS will continue supporting the PRS in developing and maintaining a quality heterogeneous computing environment and providing high quality support services. The PRsISM Task Order was awarded to SMS as a Small Business Prime under the Army Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) contract, a Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle providing customized best value solutions to a diverse group of organizations that span the spectrum of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) mission requirements throughout the world.

SMS Awarded Air Force Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Support Contract

McLean, VA | June 13, 2023 SMS announced today it has been awarded the recompete contract supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Command’s (AFLCMC) Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (CCSD) at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

Under the three-year $8.9M task order, awarded under the Army’s Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3), SMS delivers information assurance (IA) and enterprise architecture for this one-of-a-kind Air Force activity responsible for Cyberspace Support. SMS’ provision of IT requirements planning, client / network / server support and asset management ensures the CCSD continues to secure war fighter access to information systems while denying adversaries access to the same.

SMS Wins Recompete of Kirtland Air Force Base C4 Contract

McLean, VA | May 16, 2023 SMS announced today it has been awarded the 377th Air Base Wing task order in support of the Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) Services Contract at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, under the Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services (RS3) multiple award IDIQ contract.

The $56M C4 Services Contract supports Kirtland AFB, which relies on a large, diverse number of communications and information services to support the research, development, test, operation, and evaluation of special weapons and sustain war-fighting operations. Specifically, it is serviced by two points of presence and four critical communication facilities, including voice communications, Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet), and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication Systems (JWICS).

“The 377th Mission Support Group Communications Division (377 MSG/SC) is a high-performing organization providing excellent customer service to over 100 tenant organizations across Kirtland AFB,” stated Matt Rosecan, SMS President and CEO. “We are thrilled to continue providing exceptional support to this important customer, as we have done since 2018.”

SMS delivers services for the 377th Air Base Wing, the host organization for Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), as well as more than 50 major mission partners including: Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC), 58th Special Operations Wing (SOW), 150th Special Operations Wing (NMANG), Air Force Inspection Agency (AFIA), Air Force Safety Center (AFSEC), Department of Energy (DOE) and Sandia National Laboratory (SNL). The period of performance of the base year is 16 September 2023 – 15 September 2024.  The task order has the base year plus four, one-year option periods.
