McLean, VA | September 30, 2011 – SMS, a leading IT services provider and systems integration firm with nearly 40 years of experience providing IT solutions to the Federal Government, announced today it will be working on the Certification and Accreditation Technical Services (CATS) contract as part of the Burke Consortium Inc. (BCI) team for the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, which is a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Throughout the four-year multi-million dollar contract duration, SMS will be functioning in Alexandria, Virginia as part of the BCI team, providing ongoing information assurance support and certification and accreditation services. Areas of responsibility include risk assessment, contingency planning, security auditing and testing, and change control evaluation all of which leverage SMS’s previous experience with other similar civilian and DoD agencies.
